One page handwritten note on embossed House of Commons Library stationery, signed by Parnell, asking Corbett to "kindly hand
inclosed to Mr. Stryss" [item not in the collection] who will be attending a meeting of the Society of Engineers in Westminister,
London being held on May 5, 1890. Parnell adds that a "Mr. Cheeswright is to read a paper about his system of Harbour construction."
Also includes one admission ticket to the event (previously affixed to the letter, now detached), made out to Parnell, for
use by the courier to gain entrance to the meeting.

Charles Stewart Parnell was an Irish landlord, nationalist political leader, and founder and leader of the Irish Parliamentary
Party. He was a member of the British House of Commons from 1875 until his death in 1891.
The Society of Engineers was established in May 1854 in The Strand, London. Founded as a means of reunion for former students
of Putney College, the Society promoted the interests of members worldwide and was concerned with all branches of engineering.
